A shooting resulted in one death and three injuries shortly after the funeral procession on the streets of Los Angeles in honor of rapper Nipsey Hussle on Thursday, April 11. There is no indication that this shooting was related to the rapper.
The procession spanned 15 miles through the streets of California’s largest city, and gathered thousands of people along the route. An hour after passing the crowd, a shootout erupted in an adjacent street in the Watts district. The Los Angeles Police Chief revealed the information in the evening.
“In the midst of this procession we have a multi-4 Shooting at 103 St and Main St. Victims are 3 Male Blacks and 1 Female Black – ages from 30-50 years old. Tragically one is deceased. Suspects in gray Hyundai fired on the victims. We must stop this senseless violence,” the LAPD police chief Michael Moore said in a tweet.
“LAPD tells me there were actually 4 gunshot victims”, relayed the journalist Christina Heller of the local chain ABC7.
This is the second time that an event pays tribute to the rapper, murdered March 31 in the neighborhood of Hyde Park, Los Angeles. On April 1, hundreds of people gathered spontaneously for a wake in front of the store where Nipsey Hussle was shot. A scramble broke out, leaving 19 wounded.
