As promised when announcing the postponement of the release of the game, the playable demo of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is available since this morning on the PlayStation Store.
A little less than two months separate us from the release of Yakuza 6, the most ambitious episode of Sega’s action / open-world action series. To make us wait, the publisher has just released a playable demo on PlayStation 4, including the entire prologue of the game.
The demo allows us to discover the entire prologue of the game and to be directly immersed in the first adventures of the hero. The only constraint is at the level of secondary activities since everything will not be accessible. In addition, be aware that your progress will be preserved and it will be possible to recover your progress at the exit of the game. The demo, however, weighs a little over 36 GB, so plan ahead a little space on your hard drive and time if you do not have an excellent connection.
As a reminder, in the open world of Yakuza 6, absolutely everything can be bought, eaten, negotiated or manipulated according to the wishes of the player. Now Kiryu, the hero has no less access to a range of activities more delirious than each other. The hand-to-hand combat and free roaming on the streets of the Japanese capital are still relevant, and the graphics engine has been fully reprogrammed to take advantage of the PlayStation 4.
Inspired directly by his series Shenmue (whose third episode must, according to the latest news, come out in 2018), Sega offers us nothing less than a simulation of Tokyo life. We can participate in a musical game, talk with people in the streets, take selfies next to a sandwich man or in front of a port of pleasure (beware, a ghost at the Ring or The Grudge can sometimes be invited on the cliché!), test dozens of restaurants, do bodybuilding, flirt in bars or go to an Internet cafe, adopt a cat, play baseball or darts, try scuba diving and underwater fishing… and even visit a Sega arcade, where you can discover full versions of Virtua Fighter V, Space Harrier or the awesome puzzle Puyo Puyo.
The full version of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be available on PS4 on April 17, 2017 (not on March 20 as originally planned). A collector’s edition will also be available with two decorated glasses, two ice cube molds, two coasters, a thick artbook and a special case.
