US President Donald Trump denied on Monday sexual harassment charges brought against him during the 2016 presidential campaign, calling them “fake News”.
“All I can say is it’s totally fake news. It’s just fake. It’s fake. It’s made-up stuff, and it’s disgraceful, what happens, but that happens in the — that happens in the world of politics,” he told the press at the White House.
Donald Trump was questioned on Sunday’s information that a court had ordered his campaign team to hand over all the documents relating to the various sexual harassment charges brought against the Republican candidate in the 2016 campaign.
According to The Washington Post, the subpoena was issued last March, while Donald Trump had already been invested President of the United States.
The subpoena is the result of a defamation complaint filed by Summer Zervos, a former nominee of the reality show “The Apprentice” hosted by Donald Trump for many seasons.
According to the complaint, the billionaire made “several false and defamatory statements” against Ms. Zervos. She accused him of touching her breasts and attempting to kiss her by force in 2007 at a hotel in Los Angeles when he was just still a wealthy businessman.
The subpoena issued against Donald Trump’s campaign team forces him to hand over all the documents that he could possibly hold relating to “any accusations” against the Republican candidate during his victorious campaign of 2016, all the while reproaching him for “subjecting” a woman “to unwanted sexual intercourse and / or inappropriate sexual behavior”.
