When Orlando Magic meets the magic of Disney!
After Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston or even Sacramento, Orlando Magic is the new franchise of the NBA to succumb to the ‘jersey sponsoring’ craze. As of next season, several NBA franchises will indeed have a patch from a sponsor on their jerseys. Unless some big decision is taken, it is very likely to see no jersey without advertising by October 20th.
The famous amusement park, through the Disney logo, will be visible on the front of the franchise jerseys from the season 2017-2018 which marks the beginning of advertising on jerseys. It should be noted that Disney was already a partner of the Magic, both entities have been working for several years on numerous local initiatives.
The new contract was signed for several years and will offer Disney an enhanced exposure to the Amway Center. However, as of now, we do not know the amount of the contract.
“With Orlando as our hometown, magic has always been a key strand of our DNA,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins. “This expanded agreement with Disney brings our story full circle and represents the coming together of two dynamic organizations that have become synonymous with Orlando.”
