The brother of the author of the worst mass shooting in recent American history has been arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography, Los Angeles police said Wednesday.
Stephen Paddock’s brother, Bruce Paddock, was arrested early Wednesday in Los Angeles, LAPD spokesman Norma Eisenman told journalists.
She points out that 59-year-old Bruce Paddock faces charges of child pornography related to a pre-Las Vegas shootout investigation in which Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and injured nearly 500 others before killing himself.
Bruce Paddock, according to the American press, had already been charged with numerous offenses, including intentionally starting a fire and burglary.
The father of the Paddock brothers was also on the list of the most wanted people in the country in the late 1960s after escaping from prison where he was serving a sentence for bank robbery.
He is being held on $60,000 bail. Paddock was taken into custody at an assisted living center in North Hollywood, FOX 11 reported, citing law enforcement sources.
“At the beginning of the investigation, Mr. Paddock had no fixed address and could not be located” until he was found on Wednesday and arrested by an intervention group including the FBI, the Office of Federal Investigations, adds the release.
